Local charity Brighter Futures will benefit from a donation by software development company XRM to support their work with Jersey parents, families, and young people.
The charity helps up to 150 families at a time in three key areas: second chance learning programmes, parent-child relationships, and mental health and wellbeing programmes. Since 2008, they have supported over 1,600 families and benefited over 5,000 islanders.
Ruth Brunton, CEO of Brighter Futures said:
“Brighter Futures were honoured to be chosen by XRM to be one of three charities to receive a donation of £6,100. With this funding we are able to support and sponsor 1.5 families in Jersey for a whole year.”
Ruth continues:
“Families come to us from a variety of backgrounds and for a variety of reasons such as suffering from post-natal depression, addiction or anxiety, or experiencing isolation or abuse. These issues may only be temporary, but they can have a lifelong impact on children. By engaging families from the birth of a child, we can help shape these crucial first early years of a child’s life.”

There’s huge value in schemes like the Brighter Futures Second Chance Learning programme that supports parents and carers succeed in education, work, and life.”
